3 Great Day Trips From Cancun

Cancun one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico, with its sweeping beaches, partying, coral reef and brilliant water sports, it is a true tropical paradise. It’s no surprise that Mexico beach rentals are increasingly popular in Cancun.

The good news is that a holiday in Cancun allows you the opportunity to venture out and see more of what Mexico has to offer. You’ll be able to see things such as Mayan archaeological sites, amazing natural wonders, spectacular theme parks and also the adventures of a lifetime.

There’s so much to see and do when you’re not lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun, so I thought it would be a great idea to give you 3 of the best day trips you can go on from Cancun.

I love Cancun and I have never had a dull moment there, but with so many easily accessible day trips on offer it would be a crime not to head out and explore.

Xel-Ha

In Xel-Ha you get the opportunity to have close encounters with the wonders that lay beneath the waves in the ocean, and you can also have a great time at many land attractions. This ecological them park is perfect for travelers of all ages and guarantees a great day out. My favourite thing here has to be swimming with the dolphins, followed by petting the beautiful stingrays and the slightly scary cliff diving. This is top of the list and one that you shouldn’t miss out on.

Cozumel

The island of Cozumel is the most popular day trip people choose to take from Cancun. There are miles and miles of beaches to explore, pristine clear waters, and also a coral reef which attracts people for both diving and snorkeling. If diving isn’t your thing then you can always have fun with any number of activities that are on offer; fishing in the deep sea, kite surfing, tours in glass-bottom boats and wake boarding. If you love nature then the Chankanaab National park is absolutely perfect for you. The park has abundance of walking trails, beautiful botanical gardens, hundreds of iguanas and of course many beaches.

Whale Shark Snorkeling

This is a once in a lifetime experience for any traveler, no matter how well traveled you are I promise this will be right up there in the top 3 things you have ever done. Whale Sharks are officially the largest species of fish in the world. Tourists visiting Cancun during the months of May and September will be able to swim with these giant fish, the Whale Sharks flock in big numbers to the Yucatan coast to search for food such as fish eggs and plankton.

Have you ever been on any of the day trips I have mentioned above or would you recommend any others? I would love to hear about any experiences you may have had, I’m hoping I can add a few more to the list for my next visit over to the magical coast line of Mexico.
