Simple Ways to Make More Time for Traveling
Traveling can be very addictive. Once you have experienced the thrills of exploring an entirely new city – or a completely new country you have never visited before – you’ll start longing for more. Unfortunately, not all of us are fortunate enough to have the ability to travel often. Aside from budget constraints, there are time limitations to worry about, too.
We can help you with finding time for your next trips. Here are some of the simplest ways to make more time for traveling. Let’s have a look, shall we?
Be Wise with Your Leave
Before you start planning your next trip or take a leave of absence, it is always best to plan ahead. Take a look at the calendar and you will find days when a single day off can be converted into four to five days’ worth of vacation time.
The Presidents’ Day on February 20th will fall on a Monday this year. If you take a leave of absence on the previous Friday, you can have four days of vacation time to spend. The longer weekend means you can travel further and do so much more.
There are plenty of state holidays to look for, too. The Texas Independence Day, for instance, is a state holiday that will fall on a Thursday this year. You can then take a leave of absence on Friday, March 3rd, and have another four days of vacation time to spend.
It is not uncommon for avid travelers to use this trick to stretch their vacation time. You can turn a 14-day leave allocation into a series of extended weekends and long vacations through careful planning. You will also be able to get better deals, since you’re planning ahead for your trips.
Switch to Online Courses
This next tip is for students. University schedules and assignments can be very demanding, leaving you with no time to travel. There is now a solution for that. Online programs from top universities such as Bradley University are becoming more popular because they offer extra flexibility. More majors such as online counseling degrees are available, too.
You still get an accredited degree at the end of the course – and must follow a strict set of standards along the way – but you can choose to study in your own time. The best masters in counseling programs, for example, are accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP).
You can even choose to study while traveling. Even better, it is possible to transfer your credit hours from an offline program to online courses at most universities. This will give you all the time you want to travel and explore more places.
Take the First Step!
These are just two of the best ways to make more time for traveling. There are other alternatives to try, too. You can, for example, pursue a career overseas and travel while working. You can also find a career that you can do remotely to have the same extra freedom as online students.
What’s important is making that first step. Time should not be a factor that prevents you from seeing the world.
